Geeks around the world will definitely be going to Comic-Con this year in San Diego next week to see the most beautiful woman in the world. That's right Angelina Jolie will be paying a visit to the 'Dork Fest'. I am sure some people will get mad that she is there saying she doesn;t have the comic cred but that is not true at all. Ms. Jolie was Lara Croft in the two Lara Croft: Tomb Raider movies, she also starred in Wanted, and if you count Mr. and Mrs. Smith with was action packed, is that Comic-Con cool, I have no idea.

The reason why she is going this year though is to promote her new film that comes out next week; Salt which has potential to become a franchise all in itself.

Is Angelina Jolie just good at picking out what action films will hit a chord will fans or does she make the films worth watching?

Oprah Winfrey Show, No One is Watching?

If that didn't grab your attention then I don't know what will but it is true, the Oprah Winfrey Show has hit an all time low for the show's history. Under 3 million people tuned in to see the show. Now all of her shows are in repeats so what's the big deal? Probably nothing but in the past her shows have always done well even in repeats. Maybe it is time for the Big O to retire... or at least go to cable.

Also an Oprah Winfrey spokeswoman would also like to point out that the show has been number 1 for 24 years, ohh yeah I guess she still is the Queen of Daytime.

More New Movies at the B.O.

This weekend like every weekend there are new movies vying for the top spot at the box office and from the looks of it the clear winner is going to be Inception. You know the movie staring Leonardo DiCaprio and sadly for Nicholas Cage his latest film the Sorcerer's Apprentice looks DOA, shall we have a look at my guess for top 5?

1. Inception - 68 Million - It's tracking amazing well and it is Chris Nolan's first film since releasing Dark Knight so even though my guess is high, I am sticking by it. With the action men will want to see it and also Leo is in it for the women... and Ellen Page for the "let's be friends"

2. Despicable Me - 30 Million - Chalk another hit up for Steve Carrell, this is no means a Toy Story hit but really what is.

3. Sorcerer's Apprentice - 20 Million - I think I may being too kind to this film, and would not be surprised it the weekend gross was lower. The reviews actually haven't been bad but really there is no buzz about it and no one really cares to see this I feel. This may be another summer blockbuster dud.

4. Twilight: Eclipse - 15 Million - Still staying strong and it will be the highest grossing of the Twilight films but it's been out for a while now so the buzz is fading.

5. Toy Story 3 - 13 Million - This movie is going to pass Finding Nemo has the highest grossing Disney Pixar film and if a movie had to do it I am glad it was this one, it's a great film. Will this be the highest grossing film of 2010 in the end, we'll have to wait and see.

Are the Hills Still Alive?

The MTV show the Hills has finally ended after 6 long seasons of blank stares and staged fights and I apparently thought no one was watching anymore but I was wrong. For the series finale the show drew 3 million viewers which also helped the City get it's best numbers with 2.3 million viewers. I don't know to me if it is a reality show it should be on Bravo, that's what Kevin thinks.

New Girl in the 'House'

This season on House, which I do not watch and really never wanted to but they are adding a new actress to the mix and I am happy that she is getting work. That actress is Amber Tamblyn who was previously on Joan of Arcadia (loved it) and the Unusuals (worked on it and liked it). She has been nominated for an Emmy for her role in Arcadia has the heroine, Joan. For House she been on for a few episodes, I am not sure how many but she'll be playing a brilliant med student.

Summer Reading - I Am On Fire...

The reason I am on fire? It's because I just finished the book, The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson and it was a quick ready even when it was over 600 pages, and why? Because the book has everything in it that you don't want to put it down. Many of the same characters are in from the original so you now get a sense that you know these people. I kind of now know why everyone loved reading the Harry Potter books andafter the third in this series I am not sure what I am going to do with myself, maybe see the movies!

Okay so now my new book I am starting should be of no surprise, it is The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Here is what the book is about but it could be a SPOILER ALERT if you haven't yet read the others.

Movies This Weekend

Since I am away and don;t really feel like posting box office predictions I will let you know what I think you should all go out to see, and it's called the Kids Are All Right which was talked about before on this blog. Well it comes out today and is getting rave reviews especially for the two main female leads and stars; Julianne Moore and Annette Bening who I am each hoping get there long over due Oscar.

Please support this indie gem... I haven't seen it yet and already calling it a gem, love it!

Summer Sun

Today Brian and I are going away to Montauk for a couple of days, my computer will be there so there will be some posts but it may be lighter then usual, we'll have to see how early I get up. But there is also some other news, when I get back that following Monday I will begin working full-time again so I am going to see how much postings I can handle but it I am waking up early I can always do it beforehand, we'll see but I just wanted all faithful 5 readers to know what the deal is.

Also when I get back I am hoping to have to two books to discuss in the summer reading posts, which both are part of the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series.

Skeet Ulrich Killer to Cop

Skeet Ulrich who is best know for being one of the duo killers in the original Scream movie (I didn't give anything away you should have seen it by now). Now he's got another gig and he has Dick Wolf to thank, that is because he has just been signed on to star in the newest spin-off of Law and Order called Law and Order: LA. Ulrich will be playing one of the two main detective leads, they other one has yet to been cast, will it be a woman, that worked for Law and Order: SVU.

It must be a slow news week when Law and Order has been mentioned twice in two days...

Cleveland Gets a Season 2

Even though show didn't live up the hype, Hot in Cleveland has been renewed for a second season. No word on how many episodes Betty White will appear in since she did has some reservations about returning to a sitcom full time. White, is the only reason to tune into the show but who know maybe they will find the stride they are looking for, it too Seinfeld two seasons to get it.

The second season of Hot in Cleveland will get a whopping 20 episodes double the first seasons 10.

Elisabeth Röhm is Taylor Lautner's Mom?

Elisabeth Röhm who was an ADA on Law and Order and as many considered the worst ADA in the shows history and she also starred on Angel for a bit has been cast in a new movie called 'Abduction' with a cast that includes Taylor Lautner, Lily Collins, Maria Bello and Sigourney Weaver. The movie is said to be about a young guy who goes on the run after discovering that his parents aren’t his own when he sees his baby picture on a missing persons website. Röhm, will be playing the biological mother to Lautner who is playing the young lad on the run. I feel like Röhm is a bit to young to play his mother but I guess this is Hollywood and also maybe I am old and just don't realize that she isn't as young as she was when she was on Law and Order.

Tomorrow A Big Day

Tomorrow morning PST the Emmy nominations will be announced and I hope to have my reaction to them tomorrow as well but we are going to Montauk for a couple of days so my reaction may have to wait a day or two but I think for freshman series we can all say that Glee, Modern Family, and the Good Wife will get some Emmy love and freshen it up a bit but let's hope they give older shows their due respect as well, I am of course talking about Dexter, Mad Men, Big Bang Theory.

Then of course we have to wait until September to find out who wins but that just gives us time to bitch and moan for who was not nominated and also praise and pray for the ones that were.

In June I did my pick of who should be nominated, take a look and see when they are announced tomorrow if I was on the ball or completely off.

A Party I Want to Be Invited To!

Has anyone seen the full length version of the new Bravo summer 2010 commercial? All I know is I want t be invited to that party, there is Jeff Lewis and Rachel Zoe, all those Housewives and Miss Kathy Griffin. Now is this spot only for summer shows because there was one certain Housewives franchise that was not represented and that is the Real Housewives of Orange County. Now Patti Stanger was in there and I can't believe that her show is coming on soon, I feel like it just ended.

This weekend I was talking about the old Comedy Central show called Crank Yankers, the episode I was talking about was where Sarah Silverman is working for Oprah and she is basicaly telling the woman on the other end that Oprah victimizes them it was hysterical. I cannot find it anywhere, did Oprah have it taken off the entire internet!

Yesterday Brian and I completely caught up with Dexter and we finished season 4 so now like everyone else we must wait until the fall to get to watch season 5 and see what's going on with out favorite serial killer. Season 4 was one of the best, (season 1 was also the best), John Lithgow was this seasons bad guy and Lithgow really made this character his own and scary! I don't want tospoil anything for people that haven't yet watched it but what I will say in the final scenes of the season finale were truly some of the most surprising, upsetting, and Holy SH*T moments on TV, you will literally be on the floor.

I already did my Emmy polls for this year and I still think Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter deserves nominations but also add for the Guest Actor for a Drama Series John Lithgow because he is going to win, I promise you.

Julia Roberts on HSN?

Is Julia Roberts the new Joan Rivers and will she be hawking homemade jewelry on HSN (Home Shopping Network), well kind of... not really. America's sweetheart will not be making her appearance on the network but the channel will devote 72 hours to Julia's new film Eat, Pray, Love. In the movie Julia Roberts' character goes to 3 different countries (India, Italy, Bali) to find herself so HSN ill capitalize on that and sell items related to or some tie-in to the country, like a pasta maker... ding we have Italy and so-forth.

HSN is hoping that this will be a success and they plan on doing this with other movies as well. Now will this actually get more people to the movies to see it, I don't know. I don't watch HSN but I know it is huge with females and that is the target audience for Eat, Pray, Love so we will just have to wait and see.

Another Plus for Scream 4

Here is another reason why the next installment of Scream 4 may not suck! Adam Brody from the OC has now signed on to star in the film as well, and I think it's about time we see his adorable mug again. I know he was recently in Jennifer's Body but who really saw that movie, no one. I think Adam Brody will fit nicely into the who Scream mentality and let's hope he doesn't get killed off, put him in 5 and 6.

Does Love Bite for NBC?

One of the new promising shows for NBC this fall has taken a bit of a detour and will now be a mid-season replacement, the show is Love Bites. Does that mean we should write off Love Bites or still give the show a shot?

There are basically 3 reasons the show has to be pushed back 1. Jordana Spiro who was cast in the show had to drop out because of conflict of interest with her other show on TBS called My Boys, which kind of stinks, do they recast or just drop the character and maybe bring it back later on if the show is a hit? Number 2. which is some happy news, star Becki Newton, you know from Ugly Betty, is pregnant in real life (it's her first!) and the show is deciding whether or not to write in the pregnancy or not (I say don't do it!). And 3. the showrunner Cindy Chupack has stepped down and as to why, I have no idea.

NBC isn't completely screwed though they have Donald Trump's the Apprentice to put on in it's place.

I love me some Becki Newton so I hope the show is a success.

It's a Holiday, Time to Booze

It's July 4th weekend and that means everyone should be boozing it up and having a grand all time, it does mean that right. It doesn't matter if you are going to the beach, a BBQ, or even tennis camp you deserve t give yourself a cocktail to celebrate independence.

Here are some cocktails that will get you into that holiday spirit (am I making this seem like Christmas?). Of course these drinks contain alcohol.

The Fourth of July

Layer in order as listed starting with the Grenadine on the bottom.

½ shot Grenadine

1/3 shot Vodka

1/3 shot Blue Curacao

Stars and Stripes Forever

1 oz. UV Blue Raspberry Vodka

2 oz. sour

Fill with lemonade

Top off with a cherry

Patriotic Punch

Combine and serve in a rocks glass over ice:

4th of July - Weekend Box Office

This time of year the movie studios usually love because of the long weekend at least one day or night more people may decide to see a movie and this year they've brought the big guns... or at least one big gun. That big gun is Twilight Eclipse which has already broken many records and I am sure on it's way to beat some more. Twilight has already made over $68 million dollars and this weekend expect more.

Here are my top 5 predictions:

1. Twilight Eclipse - $95 Million - It could reach that 100 million mark for the weekend which I thought it would but seeing how big the first day was, did many already go out and see the movie? I think so and with the weather being so great I am going to say Twilight this weekend will be a little south of 100 million but depending on Thursdays numbers, by the end of the weekend it could reach $200 million total.

2. The Last Airbender - $38 Million - I have never even heard of it but apparently it is a live action version of a popular kids cartoon, I should see if my nephew knows what this is. Apparently the kids love the cartoon so it has it's fan base but the reviews have been horrible, but do kids really care about reviews?

3. Toy Story 3 - $35 Million - The best movie out right now will inch even closer to the 300 million mark and may even cross it, this is the type of movie that if you want to go to the movies and already saw it but don;t know what to see you'd see this again with no issue, I can't believe how much I like something with Tom Hanks, at least we don't have to see his ugly mug.

4. Grown Ups - $21 Million - It's holding up quite nicely throughout the week and expect the movie to drop a bit but rest assure this will be another movie that Adam Sandler can say will be joining the 100 million club... maybe not this weekend but it will.

5. Knight and Day - $10 Million - I think people were over this even before it began, what else is there to say.

Ina Garten Got the 4th Spirit

This weekend is the Fourth of July and everyone will be going to BBQ's and other parties so I decided to put on the site a cute dessert that one can bring to a place that I am sure will be a crowd favorite.

Here is the recipe for the Flag Cake by Ina Garten aka the Barefoot Contessa;

Ingredients

18 tablespoons (2 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter at room temperature
3 cups sugar
6 extra-large eggs at room temperature
1 cup sour cream at room temperature
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
3 cups flour
1/3 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon baking soda

For the icing:

1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter at room temperature
1 1/2 pounds cream cheese at room temperature
1 pound confectioners' sugar, sifted
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

To assemble:

2 half-pints blueberries
3 half-pints raspberries

Directions

Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Butter and flour an 18 by 13 by 1 1/2-inch sheet pan.

Cream the butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on high speed, until light and fluffy. On medium speed, add the eggs, 2 at a time, then add the sour cream and vanilla. Scrape down the sides and stir until smooth.

Sift together the flour, cornstarch, salt, and baking soda in a bowl. With the mixer on low speed, add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until just combined. Pour into the prepared pan. Smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the center of the oven for 20 to 30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool to room temperature.

For the icing, combine the butter, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, mixing just until smooth.

Spread three-fourths of the icing on the top of the cooled sheet cake. Outline the flag on the top of the cake with a toothpick. Fill the upper left corner with blueberries. Place 2 rows of raspberries across the top of the cake like a red stripe. Put the remaining icing in a pastry bag fitted with a star tip and pipe two rows of white stripes below the raspberries. Alternate rows of raspberries and icing until the flag is completed. Pipe stars on top of the blueberries.

I serve this cake right in the pan. If you want to turn it out onto a board before frosting, use parchment paper when you grease and flour the pan.

Twilight - Quite Impressive

Twilight Eclipse has quite an opening for it's midnight showings and when I say quite an opening I mean it! It made what some films make in a whole weekend or even in it's entire run! The film has grossed over 30 million dollars from those showings and it looks like it will not slow down, this weekend will be it's first weekend and people are saying it could go in the 100 million dollar range... we shall see. The reviews have been great for this film saying that it is the best of the series so far, so it looks like a lot of people will be beating the heat at the movie theater, get some popcorn.

IFC I Love YOU!

So since the IFC channel became a channel I always like it because well it played movies that it stood for IFC stands for Independent Film Channel and they always play great movies that you want to see but either they were in the art house theater or played for a limited time but always got critical acclaim. After a while they started getting into series as well and they used to have a great show called Dinner for Five where they had actors and actress mostly of independent films and they sat around a dinner table and discussed the industry, it was a great show that gave you a glimpse into the Hollywood life. They then a couple of years ago started playing reruns of the critical favorite FOX show Arrested Development . They are now going to start playing two of the best shows that never found love and they were created by Judd Apatow. They are Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared. Freaks and Greeks is starting on Friday at 11pm and they will play the episode again on Sunday at 10pm and Monday at 11pm. Undeclared will start airing in the fall and IFC will be airing a neve before seen episode on US TV, that's exciting!

Now if IFC also played Grosse Pointe they'd just be amazing!

Summer Reading - The Start of Another

So this week I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson and I have to say in my opinion the book really lived up to the hype that it's been getting. Reading it, it completely reminded me of one of the Bourne movies, it was such a smart and inter-lapping book. There is family secrets, tragedy, murders, love, sex, thrilling scenes. While reading this I could see Daniel Craig playing the male lead role and I know he is in talks to play it also Brad Pitt which maybe but Craig would be the better choice. There is a Swedish movie out that is getting great reviews and they are saying very true to the book so if you cannot wait for the big budget one, try it out.

Now it should come o no surprise that my next book I am going to be reading will be the second in the trilogy of the Stieg Larsson books which is 'The Girl Who Played with Fire'. Here is the synopsis of the book, and you do not have to read the first to read the second but I highly recommend doing so because you get to know these characters.

Lisbeth Salander is a wanted woman. Two Millennium journalists about to expose the truth about the sex trade in Sweden are brutally murdered, and Salander's prints are on the weapon. Her history of unpredictable and vengeful behaviour makes her an official danger to society - but no-one can find her anywhere. Paranormal Activity 2 Trailer

Many of you have been searching for the Paranormal Activity 2 trailer, I knew the first one was a success but I didn't think it was as big as it apparently is. I never saw the first movie and I don;t think I'll be seeing Paranormal Activity 2. I watched the trailer and if really didn't interest me but for the audience I must give them what they want so check out the railer below. Darth Vader Driving Miss Daisy?

I don't know if this can even compete with the Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman classic Driving Miss Daisy movie that came out in 1989 but it sounds promising and has me a bit curitious. Yesterday a press release was announced saying that James Earl Jones (voice of Darth Vader... ahh get it) and Vanessa Redgrave will star in a the broadway debut of Driving Miss Daisy. This is the first time the movie is coming to broadway but apparently before the movie was made this was an off-broadway production, who knew, not me.

October 25, 2010 is when we can expect to see this on the Great White Way, are we happy abut this? I think it could be good.

Reruns Already? Ohh Wait 2013

Two of the freshman series and the two biggest comedies in recent years have already found a home in syndication. Modern Family and Glee will both be living on for years to come... even if they get canceled next season (not that I think it will happen to either). But in back of confidence for these shows the Oxygen which picked up Glee and USA which picked up Modern Family these shows to start airing in 2013 meaning that they feel these shows will be giving us viewers quality viewing for some time. I don't have the price that these networks paid but I am sure it was a pretty penny for these shows. Also Oxygen has picked up a reality series mirrored after Glee show looks like they carved out their little niche...

Both shows are produced by 20th Century Fox and distributed by Twentieth Television.

New Potter

Since I discussed Twilight and then I saw today that the new Harry Potter trailer came out I figured I should mention that as well, just in case Kate is a fan of that as well! So back to what I was saying, Warner Bros. has just released the trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which I am sure will start a stir among the Potter fans. Sadly though is is also a franchise that I never got into either but with the special effects and and what little of the story line I know it does seem like an entertaining film and it's quite weird that we've seen these actors literally grow up before our eyes.

Time to Find a New Branch Manager

As season 7 starts on the Office this fall it will a big one. Why, because what has been floating around for a while has now been confirmed, Steve Carell is leaving the hit NBC show. He states that eh wants to spend more time with his family. I believe that his last few movies have been box-office hits and he would like to keep that going and get out of the TV world, which good for him. Steve Carell has played the Michael Scott character for now 7 years and he'd like to branch out a bit, he wasn't throwing tantrums and giving crazy demands, he has always been professional and likable now that his contract is up he has the right to do what he wants.

The question remains, will NBC cancel the show after the star of it leaves or try to 'refresh' the series and bring in some new cast members and rearrange the roles of some others? In my opinion the show makes money for NBC so I don't think that they will cancel I have a feeling they will do what they can to keep it going. Should they do that? Now that is the question, in recent season the Office has felt a bit stale and forced, like maybe it should have ended already so maybe with Steve leaving would be the time to end it, you know NBC on a high note...

The Readers Want Twilight

An avid reader named Kate Dalton from New Jersey asked SearchStalker where are the post about Twilight. So for a fan we must give them what they want. Tomorrow the third of the Twilight series is opening in theaters and it is called Twilight Eclipse, where there will be a love triangle between Edward (Robert Pattinson), Bella (Kristen Stewart), and Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Too bad I personally think Bella likes the ladies... no reason to flight over her guys!

The movie is poised to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the summer and they are already predicting that it will open with a 100 million weekend, now in the end will it make as much as Iron Man 2 (probably) and Toy Story 3 (probably not) but one thing for sure this franchise is not slowing down. I believe that there is one more book they are turning into two movies (wonder if they are milking this franchise?)

Is anyone going to be seeing the Twilight Eclipse on its opening week or n the theaters at all?

We know this is not an Oscar caliber film but it seems to be a real popcorn fun film and the movie industry needs some hits after a quiet start to the summer so lets hope this is the hit we are all expecting.

Chris Brown's Tribute

There is no doubt the guy can dance and has moves like Michael the questions is that should Chris Brown be allowed to preform? Are we over the whole Rihanna beating, has he paid his debt back to society?

Ellen again, What About Regis and Kelly?

Last night was the Daytime Emmy Awards on CBS and I had no desire to watch them but I kind f was thinking when I woke up this morning I'd hear that Live with Regis and Kelly would have gotten an Emmy Award or the hosts Regis Phillbin and Kelly Ripa would have won. Sadly though this Susan Lucci of talk shows once again went home empty handed, Ellen Degeneres won for the best talk show and Dr. Oz got the best talk show host. This was Ellen's 5th, did she really need another one? I think that Regis and Kelly do deserve an Emmy they are always on top of their games and while everyone else has so many repeats they do not, come n voting community what do we have to do to get Regis and Kelly to win? For god-sakes Regis even hosted the 2010 Daytime Emmy Awards...

Toy Story 3 Still on Top

This weekend it looks like my predictions were correct with the order of the movies for the weekend but I may have guessed to high for some totals but it was nothing crazy. This weekend we saw Toy Story 3 as the number 1 movie for a second week in a row (if you haven't seen it, go out and do so) with $59 Million which has brought its US total to over $226 million in just 2 weeks, not bad at all. Number 2 spot went to the Adam Sandler film Grown Ups which came in with 41 million dollars, his third best opening ever and proving that he is still a powerhouse at the summer movie theater. Third place went to the big budget film Knight and Day which got a little over 2o million, it cost 150 million to make so I don't think it will be making that back in the US, put a fork in Tom Cruise, is he done? The fourth spot was Karate Kid with 15.4 million dollars and making at over a 135 million dollars. The 5th spot went to the other 1980's remake the A-Team with 6 million dollars, will it hit the 100 million mark?

Next week these movies could see a small decline with the 4th of July weekend upon us or will everyone be going to see the new Twilight movie?

This weekends box office didn't match last years when Transformers 2 came out but let's be happy we don't have have that in the theaters this year!

Oscar Potential?

This weekend Brian and I took his nieces to see Toy Story 3 and with the first two Toy Story movies so well made I didn't expect anything less. To my surprise though Toy Story 3 exceeded my expectations, the movie was wonderfully made and they brought back most of the original cast and added some new voices to spice things up as well.

The premise of the movie is actually a great one and I think what made the film so good, it has the main character character grown up and now going off to college, and that means cleaning out his room and moving on with some toys he's too old to play with. Now I don't want to give much away from the movie but the 'toys' go through an adventure, where you will laugh with them, cheer for them, and cry for them. There is one scene towards the end where my heart was jumping out and these are cartoons!

If the Academy does the 10 pictures for best film for the Oscars this year Toy Story 3 will without a doubt be a contender and it's already a lock for a win for the best animated film.

If you haven't seen Toy Story 3 yet go out and see it, it was a wonderfully done movie and you don't need to be a kid to see it!

Cleveland getting Cold?

Hot in Cleveland the new sitcom staring Hollywood It girl Betty White was a ratings blockbuster on the premiere night but in it's second episode it has lost some steam, about 1 million to be exact. Now that should be some what of a no brainer since the buzz and Betty White exposure was huge, now the sitcom has to find it's footing and stay funny and smart and know where they want these characters to go.

I think still losing a million viewers it is still great for TV Land, but what about putting it on an hour earlier? I think for a show like that it should be on either the 8 o'clock or 9 o'clock hour.

Prediction Time

That's right folk's it's Friday and what does that mean, it means I am going to try and predict what the weekend box office will look like. We have two new movies out this weekend Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz which opened on Wednesday but this is it's first weekend. We also have Grown Ups with a slew of Saturday Night Live actors like Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, also Kevin James.

So let's take a look shall we?

1. Toy Story 3 - 65 Million - Usually in summer each weekend but so far this summer has seen many repeats like Iron Man, Shrek, and now Toy Story 3. It's making a killing during the week and word of mouth has been excellent. It's going to go over the 200 million mark this weekend and eventually out gross Iron Man 2 but how long will that take?

2. Grown Ups - 40 Million - People like Adam Sandler movies, people like Kevin James movies; so with these two headlining and also throwing in Chris Rock, David Spade, and Selma Hayek you have yourself a hit in my eyes. From the marketing it looks like people of all ages can enjoy the film.

3. Knight and Day - 21 Million - It's an action film with two big stars it will make money but not as much as I think the studio will like, does that mean Tom Cruise star is crumbling?

4. Karate Kid - 15 Million - Already a hit and expect it to do well as the schools get out.

5. A-Team - 9 Million - It's playing solidly but not the hit everyone thought it would be.

Remember Troll Dolls

Yeah remember these guys? Well they felt like they are getting no love so they've decided to make a movie on them, no I am not kidding. DreamWorks Animation is planning on bringing the Good Luck Troll Doll to the big screen after making a deal with Denmark's Dam Things. I don;t think a story has been written yet but do we as an audience know anything about them and do we want to see them in a movie, just them? Apparently they are in the opening sequence of the new Toy Story 3 film.

I feel like the movie could be really cute or go completely opposite and be extremely creepy.

It what I think is the best casting news ever and surprisingly it was done by the Syfy network. Syfy has has 80's singing sensations Debbie Gibson and Tiffany in one of their original Sunday night movies! That's right these two has-beens are going to be sharing the small screen together and what makes this all the better is that the movie is completely cheesey and horrible sounding everyone is going to want to watch!

The movie is called "Mega Python vs. Gatoroid" and from Hollywood Reporter they are saying it is about; "Gibson will play a fanatical animal-rights activist who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores, sending them into the Everglades, where they grow to mega sizes. Tiffany will play an overzealous park ranger who uses dangerous methods to save endangered alligators."

In the script, the pair brawl at a party, then take matters outside into the swamp.

To tell you the truth though I have to give them credit for not jumping into a reality show.

Good Actors Doing A Crappy Film

I just read that James Franco (Milk, Spiderman, Date Night), Freida Pinto who was the breakout star of the Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire, and John Lithgow who has been in everything but most recently the last season of Dexter all have signed on to star in the prequel to Planet of the Apes. The movie is going to have such an original title as Rise of the Apes, it sounds so good! The movie is set in present day San Francisco, and will be about how mankind’s experimentation with genetic engineering ultimately results in a war between humans and intelligent apes. Pinto will play a primatologist named Caroline, while Franco is playing a scientist. John Lithgow has also joined the cast and will play Franco’s father. Wasn't the Planet of the Apes remake 10 years ago a bomb, the why are we all getting punished with another one. I'll probably have to eat my words and this movie is going to be a huge hit with everyone wanting to see it.

Summer Show for Everyone

Did anyone watch the season premiere of ABC's Wipeout last night? If not I advise you to turn in on Thursday at 8pm to check it out. It's a great summer program that doesn't make you have to think or over analyze anything, all you are going to do is laugh and then laugh some more. Wipeout is basically about contestants vying for 50,000 dollars and to win the money they all must compete in these crazy obstacles without getting eliminated to advance to the next round when in the final round it it just 2 people going for the money. So of the obstacles are so out there that I think the producers do it on purpose just to give the audience a laugh at these people getting knock around, falling, or even sprayed in the face with paint!

The show is on Tuesday and Thursdays at 8pm on ABC. Here is a clip of the insanity!

M. Night Shyamalan, Do We Care

Apparently M. Night Shyamalan is circulating a script around Hollywood hoping to gain buzz and get 3 big time celebrities to sign on and star in the film. The 3 stars that Shyamalan wants to star in his new film are Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and is old the Sixth Sense star Bruce Willis. With all of M. Night's film everything is a secret so no one really knows what the script is about except top studio execs who once they have read the script have to hand it over to M. Night Shyamalan's assistant. The big question though is, is M. Night Shyamalan the powerful and great director everyone thought he was during the Sixth Sense and Signs? His last few movies have pretty much bombed at the box office and everyone seems to always know there is going to be twist and turns in his films so they aren't so shocking anymore. We'll have to wait and see if these 3 stars sign on and if so it will create some buzz but in the end the movie has to be one that people want to see.

Green Hornet, is Coming

Just released is the new trailer for the Green Hornet film that is coming out in January 2011. Now it should not be a surprise that they are making this into a movie since it is a super hero and that's all Hollywood ever does is turn them into movies. Now I am not a loser so I do not read comic books so I do not know much about the Green Hornet premise or if it's popular in the comic book world but what surprised me was that Seth Rogen is playing the hero, like aren't super-hero's buff and in shape? To his credit though he did slim down. The movie does boost quite a bit of Hollywood stars like Oscar winner Christoph Waltz, Cameron Diaz, Tom Wilkinson, and someone who I thought was dead but apparently not Edward Furlong.

Courtney Love; Behind the Music

Last night VH1 premiered a new Behind the Music (who knew it was still on the air) that gave us a glimpse into Courtney Love's life. As a huge fan of hers I already knew a lot what was said but to see it in a chronological order and to see from a young age to be treated the way she was by her parents it was said and you can somehow get why she is the way she is now. The Courtney BtM was 2 hours and Brian and I couldn't do the whole thing in one night, we needed to watch some Big Bang Theory to give us some laughs.

So far though it is interesting and there is some things I forgot about Court, like she was in Faith No More for a hot minute and how that Vanity Fair article really ruined her life for some time and she still gets upset talking about it.

I've said it before but let's hope Courtney stays on track and continues to write and play music and dabble in some acting. Love or hate her, Courtney is also entertaining and get water cooler talk. Here is a clip of Courtney Love's Behind the Music.

AMC has released the advertising poster for season 4 and some still pics, with Peggy's (Elizabeth Moss) new hair style there is rumors that there may be another time jump like they did from season 1 into season 2.

The poster looks great and it looks like Don Draper (Jon Hamm)is going to have to start all over again professional and personally. Is everyone else excited for the Mad Men season 4 to start!

Scream for Scream 4

There is apparently money to be made in a 4th installment of the Scream franchise and now with original writer and director, Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, on board, as are the original trilogy’s stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette. There is been no word on what Scream 4 will be about but I assume something about a killer klling people but a slew of other stars have signed on to star in the movie as well; Lauren Graham, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Lake Bell, Nico Tortorella, Anthony Anderson, and Marielle Jaffe. This is a lot of stars I am hoping that the movie won't be cheesy but like the original one where you were on the edge of your seats the entire time. The film is supposed to start filming at the end of this month (so like any day now?) and will be released in April 2011.

Today is officially the first day or summer so grab the oil and start frying yourself up so you can have a nice golden tan all summer long! I believe the weather in New York and the surrounding area is going to be pretty nice so enjoy it or if being out in the heat isn't your thing there is movies even though there is nothing out right now really wowing me expect for the Joan Rivers film and Cyrus.

Obviously it is a slow news day when there isn't much to talk about so I am ranting on and on about it being summer time but nonetheless enjoy the summer.

Comic Genius Retiring

All around the world I think everyone shed a tear this weekend when they found out that the comic genius known as Amanda Bynes is retiring from acting. Apparently Ms. Bynes tweeted her decision to quit acting by saying “Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem,” and then later tweeting “If I don’t love something anymore, I stop doing it. I don’t love acting anymore, so I’ve stopped doing it. I know 24 is a young age to retire, but you heard it here first.” These Tweets were written on June 19th at like 3am so girlfriend could have just been wasted and pissed off at the world. Let's hope it was a drunk tweet because who else can make such high caliber movies such as Sydney White and She's the Man, I know Meryl Streep does not have those acting chops.

Another Great Indie Film

This weekend at the movie theater there is going to be another film that has peaked my interest. It started a couple of weeks ago when we saw Please Give and I saw the previews for the film Cyrus, which is coming out this weekend is limited release. The film stars Marisa Tomei, Catherine Keener, Jonah Hill, John C. Reilly, and Katie Aselton and is about; With John's (John C. Reilly) social life at a standstill and his ex-wife about to get remarried, a down on his luck divorcee finally meets the woman (Marisa Tomei) of his dreams, only to discover she has another man in her life -- her son(Jonah Hill). Their chemistry is immediate. The relationship takes off quickly but Molly is oddly reluctant to take the relationship beyond John's house. Perplexed, he follows her home and discovers the other man in Molly's life: her son, Cyrus. A 21-year-old new age musician, Cyrus is his mom's best friend and shares an unconventional relationship with her. He is definitely not ready to share her with anyone, especially John.

That's right it's Friday and it's time for everyone's favorite game of guessing what they think the weekend box office will be. We have two movies opening this weekend one family oriented one and another that I have never even heard of, which are Toy Story 3 and Jonah Hex. Can these two films put out the fire that Karate Kid started last weekend, let's take a look.

1. Toy Story 3 - 105 Million - This movie is going to be the highest grossing first weekend for any Pixar film, the reason? It's getting great reviews, people that saw the first two films have such fond memories they want to see their old friends and maybe even now brig their kids who have seen the films on DVD, also count in the fact that its also playing on 3D screens with higher ticket prices, will this beat Finding Nemo by the end of the summer, I am guessing yes.

2. Karate Kid - 30 Million - No one saw this doing as great as it did last weekend and with the word of mouth being so strong, I think it's going to cross the 100 million mark this weekend and make Jaden Smith a star, his daddy must be so proud! The sequel has already been planned the movie is a hit.

3. A-Team - 15 million - The movie is also getting good word of mouth to the people seeing it and it looks fun and as for action there is not much out there so I think it can make 15 million and that's what I am saying.

4. Jonah Hex - 11 Million - This movie has Josh Brolin and Megan Fox but I haven't even heard about it until like 2 days ago and the clips look, well not good. It's from a DC comic so those fans will see it but I don;t think anyone else really wants to.

5. Shrek Forever After - 9 Million - It's dominated the box office for the past couple of weeks on this slow summer but with TS3 coming out this weekend look for it to fade away, it's made over 200 million and counting but out of the Shrek franchise this one is going to be the lowest grossing (if I had over 200 million I would not be crying).

Well right now making the rounds on the web is the new trailer for the Smurfs movie that will be in 3D, the movie is being shot in New York City where the Smurf's will be living in Central Park.

They look cute and I am sure the movie will be a hit so does that mean we can expect many more sequels to come, I think so.

Summer Reading - Another One

So last week I finished the Help, which I am sorry for not writing about but with Nashville and Carole King/James Taylor I completely forgot to write and let you know what I thought. If anyone needs a good summer read that you'll not want to put down then read the Help, it was such a good book it really made you feel like you were in the South in the 1960's. The author is a white woman who did grow up in the South and who did have a black maid growing up and she was able to give these maids a voice and to show how each family was different with their help, some were treated like family others like garbage but together they all told their stories to hopefully change the times. The book is fiction and it is getting made into a movie which I cannot wait for.

The new book I am starting 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo', by Stieg Larsson which is about, The disappearance forty years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden, gnaws at her octogenarian uncle, Henrik Vanger. He is determined to know the truth about what he believes was her murder. This is the first book in a series from the late author, I've been seeing everyone reading it so I decided to jump on the bandwagon let's see if this trip is worth it.

Song of the Summer

So Summer is here and we are all ready to party right? Before we can though we all need to discuss and decide what the song of the summer is going to be, looking at Billboard's Top 100 the number 1 song is Katy Perry's 'California Gurls' which the title and the actual song sound like summer songs in my opinion. There is also Usher who previously had many hits a couple of summers ago and this year he is making waves with 'OMG'. Right now everyone's favorite vampire, Robert Pattinson is filming a movie with America's sweetheart Reese Witherspoon called Water for Elephants which was a best-selling book, which I did read and I loved it. Her is what the movie is about and do you think it has the smell of Oscar on it?

The movie is being filmed right now so with editing and everything they need to do for the movie I am not sure when it will be coming out but I know I'll be seeing it.

Tonight is the night that many people have been waiting for, for quite some time. It's the premiere of the new Betty White show, Hot in Cleveland on TV Land and it's getting rave reviews. The show also stars Valerie Bertinelli, Wendie Malick and Jane Leeves who play three single women who decide to take a trip from LA to Paris but when the plane decides to make an emergency landing in Cleveland they decide to stay. The three women get a house and everything but not realizing the house comes with a land lady... Betty White where she will make these women's life a living hell.

The show, Hot in Cleveland is on at 10pm tonight on TV Land.

Maura Tierney Feeling Better

Maura Tierney who had to drop out of the NBC show Parenthood because she was diagnosed with cancer has signed onto for a new ABC series called The Whole Truth and it is a legal drama where she'll be playing deputy bureau chief in the Manhattan District Attorney's office. Tierney will be replacing Joely Richardson from Nip/Tuck fame who left the show to spend more time with her family.

I am glad to see Maura is feeling healthy enough to return to work I also like Richardson so I hope she finds a great project to work on where she gets a good role and also close to her family.

Tonight Brian and I with his mom and her friend are going to be seeing two music legends in concert tonight! Carole King and James Taylor are touring together! The concert is going to be so good, and I have never gotten to see either in concert before so with one concert I get to see two artist that have changed music, this is quite exciting!

Everyone mark your calenders because August 3rd we are getting everyone's favorite celebrity stylist back on TV. The Rachel Zoe Project will launch it's 3rd season premiere on Bravo on 8/13 at 10pm. This season will have some celebrities like Demi Moore, Gwen Stefani, and Molly Sims. There is also going to be some drama since Rachel Zoe will have to address the reason why her longtime employee Taylor Jacobson is longer getting a paycheck.

So does this mean that Flipping Out should be starting soon as well? I hope so.

Hollywood at the Tony's

This year at the Tony's many of Hollywood's favorite actors and actresses can home winners at the Tony awards. Memphis though came out the biggest winner, winning for Best Musical and a bunch of other awards. Denzel Washington and Viola Davis won Best Performance by a Leading Actor/Actress in a Play for their work in Fences. Catherine Zeta-Jones, A Little Night Music has won Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical, her costar Ms. Angela Lansbury sadly though did not go home with an award. What may have been the most surprising was that Scarlett Johansson, A View from the Bridge was named the winner for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play.

Karate Kid Makes Bank!

Well looks like I underestimated what the Karate Kid had the potential of doing. This weekend it opened as the number 1 movie making $56 Million, which the budget for the movie was 40 million so it's already considered a hit. Number 2 went to the A-Team with $26 Million and even though it's not too high it's also not too bad, we'll have to see in the coming days/weeks to see how it holds up.

The third slot went to Shrek Forever After with a bit over 15 million and has crossed the 200 million mark.

Get Him to the Greek and Killers placed 4th and 5th for the weekend.

I got back from Nashville, TN last night and the whole trip was a blast! I am now completely exhausted but there are plenty of pictures that I will post once I get them uploaded. The festival was so much fun and when we were in the stadium I don't think I have ever seen as many people in my life!

The town also looked great there was nothing that I saw that would lead you to believe there was a flood there only about a month ago.

Help Give to a Good Cause

I am sorry for not thinking to post this sooner but Brian this weekend is doing a great thing, he always is! He is raising money and taking part in a walk for Crohn's and Colitis called Take Steps, Be Heard for Crohn's and Colitis which helps raise money for the disease.

What is C&C? Crohn's disease is a chronic (ongoing) disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Although it can involve any area of the GI tract from the mouth to the anus, it most commonly affects the small intestine and/or colon.

If you are free tomorrow and like to walk on a beautiful day in New York City come out and join them the more the merrier and also if you cannot make it but would like to donate you can do so as well.

This weekend it's like 1985 all over again so get out your Miami Vice outfir and go to Coulture Club because two of the new movies are remakes from the 1980's one a hit TV show the other a hit movie. I am talking about Karate Kid and the A-Team are going to a movie thearter new you! Now for the guessing game:

1. A-Team - 33 Million dollars - The movie doesn't look half bad as an action film and it has Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson, and Jessica Biel. I feel like there has not been an action movie in some time and the reviews are good.

2. Karate Kid - 29.5 Million dollars - I wanted to give it an even 30 million but my gut it saying I always guess too high so i knocked off a half million. I think if the Shrek movie wasn't out maybe it would do better but giving the kids options some may not want to see this. I also hear the movie it over 2 hours long, seriously? Let's see if we have a Will Smith in the making.

3. Shrek Forever After - 14 Million dollars - This is the last weekend it has before Toy Story 3 comes out so it better get all the coin it can get now. It's going to cross 2oo million this weekend but it's also going down as the lowest grossing Shrek movie.

4. Get Him to the Greek - 10 Million dollars - It's a comedy and there isn't much out there plus the reviews were good. The budget was 40 Million and it will have that this weekend so this movie was a success and on par with Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

5. Killers - 6 Million - People that don't have a clue to see will see this and probably not like it if reviews are anything.

Can Sex Break 100 Million?

If you asked me a month ago if Sex and the City 2 would break over a 100 million dollars at the box office I'd say of course but the real question is can it make more then the original one. Well the movie has been out for almost 3 weeks now and it's grossed an underwhelming 76 million dollars. Now don;t get me wrong that is not chump change, but for a movie with so much hype and press everyone essentially believed it was going to be a summer blockbuster, as far as romantic comedies are concerned. This weekend it may gross anywhere from 6-8 million dollars putting the movie in the mid 80 million range buy as the weeks go one and newer movies come out that number is going to steadily drop, I like it will end off somewhere in the 90 million range but this movie will not be considered a "hit". It did cost a 100 million dollars to make but with the overseas box office and the DVDs the studio will make its money back and then some but as for a third film, I wouldn't hold my breath but also don't count it out right now Hollywood is lazy and instead of coming up with a new idea they'll just want to make a sequel again.

So what do you guys think, can Sex and the City 2 cross the century mark in the US?

NYC Reunion Tonight

Tonight at 9 o'clock on Bravo they will be airing the first part of the Real Housewives of NYC Reunion episode and let me just tell you I cannot wait. I've only seen one commercial for it and it has Jill running off stage and Kelly talking to crazy to Bethenny Frankel, ohh god it is going to be good! The only thing that sucks is that everyone's favorite new Housewife, Sonja Morgan will not be on this one, they bring her out for the Part 2.

Let's hope Andy Cohen rips into Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon and doesn't skate over anything.

In the meantime let's listen to our favorite Countess!

People Finally Care About Hockey?

Looks like I saw this morning a lot of you were looking for information about the Chicago Blackhawks and the Stanley Cup, that should be because they won the Cup last night, not sure who they were playing but good job, Blackhawks!

Also though I saw that viewership for the Stanley Cup finals have been the highest it has been in 8 years. Everyone has long considered hockey to be a fading game to watch on TV but in recent years there has been an up-tick from the previous year so lets hope it still keeps growing!

The movie hasn't actually even been green-lighted yet and there is no official title for the movie but the new Muppet movie has a release date of December 25, 2011, with Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother) set to star opposite all of our beloved Muppets.

Like I said nothing has been written yet so there is no synopsis that I can give you or any spoilers, but I am wondering if today's kids will have love for the creatures like we all did when we were younger or are with all just so into the 3D and the computer animation.

The film is called Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work and it follows her for a year while she goes on tour and shows you how she lives and how she is still not yet ready to retire. The movie is getting rave reviews and people are already talking Oscar buzz for the documentary category, which I'd love to see her name up there. But what they are saying makes this film so movie is that Joan is completely honest with the cameras and even if you were not a fan of hers after this film you cannot help but be one.

Julia Stiles from 10 Things I Hate About You and the Bourne series with Matt Damon has landed a new role and I am happy, I always liked her and she has laid pretty low as of lately.

Stiles will be joining the hit Showtime show Dexter this season for 10 episodes, her character is remaining under wraps and there isn't much I can say since I am not caught up yet with the show but by the time it is ready to air, Brian and I will be all ready and full of Dexter knowledge.

The new season of Dexter will start shooting this month and air sometime in the fall, I can't wait!

Sandra and Ryan Team Up, Again

Looks like Sandra Bullock has finally found a role after winning her Academy Award for the Blind Side and the whole Jesse James scandal. The movie is called "Most Wanted" and Bullock will be co-staring with her Proposal star Ryan Reynolds in the film. The movie is about a criminal (Bullock) being escorted to court by a U.S. Marshall (Reynolds). Both are ambushed on the way and are forced to go on the run. So it's not the most original plot that I've ever heard but people really love the Bullock/Reynold's team-up so if their chemistry is like that of the Proposal it looks like they could have another hit on their hands.

I didn't bother to write anything on yesterdays post about the MTV Movie Awards because I didn't think that they were something worth writing about, meaning I just figured no one watched them. I was apparently wrong though because 16.4 million of you decided to watch it on MTV, MTV2, and VH1. It was this award shows highest rated one in seven years.

Many believe it was so highly rated was the "special" clips of Twilight and the new Harry Potter films that had people tuning in. Also this is an award show that the viewers vote on themselves by going to mtv.com and voting.

The show was hosted by Aziz Ansari and apparently when Twilight won for best film Peter Facinelli gave a acceptance speech loaded with F bombs.

Nurse Jackie - Season Finale Tonight

Seriously it seems like Nurse Jackie's second season just started like 2 weeks ago but apparently the show has played all 12 episodes of the season and it's coming to a close tonight. IMDB's synopsis of the episode is this: After a disastrous family vacation, Jackie returns to work for a day of reckoning. The mounting pressures and conflicts in her personal and professional lives reach a boiling point. Unexpected alliances lead to revelations that even Jackie can't avoid. Between Dr. O'Hara, Eddie, Kevin and the drug dealer, the wagons are circling around Jackie Peyton.

I am looking forward to tonight's episode, this season has been throughly entertaining and we all know that Edie Flaco is great but so is this shows supporting cast like Eve Best, Peter Facinelli, and Merritt Wever who all make their characters their own.

Showtime is becoming the new HBO with all these great series, Nurse Jackie, Dexter, Weeds (not as fresh but still fun to watch) if you aren't watching any of these shows Netflix them today.

Box Office - I was right

This past Friday on my weekend box office predictions I said how the only film that will gross over 20 million dollars will be Shrek Forever After and it will be the number one film for the 3rd weekend and it looks like my prediction was right. It's not a complete win since I didn't actually give dollar amount guesses but it's a win in that I knew the way the box office was looking which was not good. So far this summer has been pretty much a dud, let's hope the coming weeks will get the movie blood flowing.

For the new films that opened Get Him to the Greek was the highest grossing with over 17 million which landed in at number 2, Killers came in at number 3 with over 16 million. Iron Man 2 is inching closer to the 300 million mark but I don't think it will end as high as the original and as for Shrek this one is looking to be the lowest grossing.

I just came across this clip for the newest Real World, what is it now Real World 75, but what had me thinking is that this season is the Real World: New Orleans which they have already done before. I will not be watching this, one I am too old to be watching the Real Worlds anymore... I have matured into watching only Bravo reality shows. Secondly though the first cast with Danny and Kelly were so good that from the clip the new cast doesn't seem good, but that could have something to do with me being old now.

This also had me thinking is it time for the MTV's Real World franchise hang up it's coat now that they are repeating cities or was New Orleans a good choice to revisit to show the rebuild.

This weekend we have a slew of new movies coming out like Get Him to the Greek, Killers, Marmaduke. Plus we have Shrek and Sex and the City 2 hold overs.

I have no idea the movies all sound pretty beat to me.

I will say Shrek Forever After will be number 1 again and this will be the last week for that.

All the other movies will not bank over 20 million. so get ready for a quiet weekend at the box office.

We all love Kathy Griffin for her outrageousness and the 'what will she do next' antics. Well Ms D-List wants another Emmy really bad and in todays Hollywood Reporter she's taken out an ad to promote her work this year. Kathy is vying for; Outstanding Reality Program (Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List), Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Special (Kathy Griffin: Balls of Steel), Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series (Law & Order: SVU), and, most importantly, Outstanding Actress in a Soon to be Released YouTube Sex Video. The last one is hopefully a joke! I love myself some Kathy so I am hoping she gets some nominations. The one for SVU would be the big one though that would show her acting chops.

Now that it's Friday I'll give you what I think should be the nominations for the Best Drama and Best Comedy series on TV and like I have said before these are not the real nominations just what I think should be, the real nominations will be announced in July, which will be here before you know it.

Best Comedy Series

Parks and Recreation - The little show that could is what this is. Last season it was just adjusting to the waters and this season it came out swinging and probably my favorite of the Thursday night shows.

Modern Family - Let us all know that the sitcom is not dead! It also show us to be the funniest show on TV you don;t have to be gross, just good family humor is all you need.

Glee - When the idea of a musical high school TV show came out, who thought that it was a good idea? Who ever did deserves a raise this show brings it every week.

Cougar Town - The Most Improved Show of the season. In the beginning it was the show after Modern Family but a few weeks into it, the 9 o'clock hour on ABC became must-see-TV.

Big Bang Theory - Got into this show late and I hate myself for it, even though I will have reruns to watch in the summer! All I have to say is Sheldon, I heart him!

30 Rock - After being the golden child for so long it's still sharp and funny and one of the best casts on TV.

Best Drama

Dexter - God this show is great, it leaves you on the edge of your seat every week and you can never get enough.

The Good Wife - A lawyer show that doesn't do things the way the other shows do, is this another Practice on our hands?

Mad Men - Each season you cannot think it can get better and somehow it does, each character so flawed but still so great.

Lost - Not many shows have an end date when they start and I think that's what made Lost so great, the writers didn't play around with you they just told a great story.

Damages - This show is like a novel and each chapter gets more enticing and with the Madoff story line this year made it even more intriguing.

Blanche Devereaux We Love You!

Here is some sad news for the day Rue McClanahan best known for playing the sex-pot Blanche from the Golden Girls has passed away. Blanche is the third out of the foursome to passway in recent years leaving Betty White standing alone.

I hope McClanahan was not in too much pain and our prayers are with her family.

Remember that awful cartoon back in the 1980's when we were kids called Thundercats? Well thanks to Cartoon Network they are bringing a new updated version to our homes. I was never into the show I didn't like that style of the cartoon to and the characters all looked like rejects from better cartoons.

I am not sure when it will be on the air but the update will involve swords and science, doesn't that sound exciting... gag me!

Amy Poehler - Parks and Recreation - She made a character people we about to dismiss as a female Michael Scott and made it her own and did it wonderfully.

Edie Falco - Nurse Jackie - Like Jon Hamm's Don Drapper, a character so flawed but you are rooting for every step of the way.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus - The New Adventures of Old Christine - This sitcom got no respect and it's not right, Dreyfus had us rolling on the floor each week.

Courtney Cox - Cougar Town - She's back and each week we remember why we love Courtney Cox and miss our old friend Monica.

Tina Fey - 30 Rock - She is the funny woman of TV and now also screen, enough said.

Best Actor - Comedy

Jim Parsons - The Big Bang Theory - Just the best character on TV, you wait to say what he will say next.

Matthew Morrison - Glee - Not anyone can go up against Jane Lynch and he sure does.

Alec Baldwin - 30 Rock - Like his costar Fey, he's got a number of these awards and it's for a very good reason

Steve Carell - the Office - The show itself might have slipped a bit but Michael Scott never fails us.

The first list is Drama!

Best Actress - Drama

Katey Sagal - Sons of Anarchy - From what I hear she is steals the show every week and a certain story line she this year had Emmy all over it.

Julianna Margulies - The Good Wife - She is basically the show and each week makes viewers root for her and want to come back.

January Jones - Mad Men - This was her season, never was their a performance like this on TV. When the hour was over you were left wanting more.

Glenn Close - Damages - One actress that sinks her teeth into a role and has so much fun doing so.

Ellen Pompeo - Grey's Anatomy - From what I hear about the season finale she plated her character so flawlessly that a first nomination might not be out of the question.

Best Actor - Drama

Hugh Laurie - House - One of the highest rated shows on TV and apparently that because of this guy, they said the first episodes of the season were not to be missed.

David Borenaz - Bones - Plays cool guy cop so well, it makes you forget he was Angel.

Michael C. Hall - Dexter - Never was a serial killer so cool and good looking, Hall makes you like Dexter and want to get to know him.

Jon Hamm - Mad Men - This character is so flawed and you should not be rooting for him or even like him but Hamm conveys so much that you cannot help but to love Don Drapper.

Kiefer Sutherland - 24 - With the action, suspense, and stunts needed to do this show only one man has been able to carry it for 8 seasons and it never got old.

Summer Reading One Down

This past weekend I finished the first book of the summer, Once is Not Enough which I let you all know about last week, look it up if you don't believe me.

Well the book was by Jacqueline Susann the author of Valley of the Dolls and that book is a classic and has sold millions world wide. Once is Not Enough was her follow up and it was not the success at Dolls it was a hit and I have to say I am very glad that I read it, the book had everything, sex, drugs, plane crashes, orgies, and most importantly a poor little rich girl.

The book is almost 500 pages but it was such a quick read, you will not want to put it down.

My next book I will be reading is called the Help (which will be a movie with Viola Davis starring) by Kathryn Stockett. The book is about:

The novel is told from the perspective of three characters in the early 1960's. Aibileen, a middle aged African American maid who has spent her life raising white children and has recently lost her only son; Minny, an African American maid who has often offended her employers despite her family's struggles with money and her desperate need for jobs; and Skeeter, a young white woman who has recently moved back home after graduating college to find out her childhood maid has mysteriously disappeared. These three stories intertwine to explain how life in Jackson, Mississippi revolves around "the help"; yet they are always kept at a certain distance because of racial lines.

I am not going lie this nomination list is going to be the hardest for me to do, we don't watch many dramas and since these actors are not the headliners it's hard for me to say who deserves it. But I am going to try anyway.

Best Supporting Actress - Drama

Jennifer Carpenter - Dexter - The Best Drama on TV and she plays Dexter's little sister so well especially when in real life they are married!

Chandra Wilson - Grey's Anatomy - Don't watch this show but the bits I do see it always seems like Chandra is giving a 110%

Christina Hendricks - Mad Men - The sexy Joan Holloway, when she comes on screen the audience knows its going to a great and memorable scene.

Cherry Jones - 24 - I know she won last year and I met her so in my book that's good enough for a nomination.

Elizabeth Moss - Mad Men - Peggy Olson is the perfect character about women trying to make in a mans world and Elizabeth Moss does it with such ease.

Best Supporting Actor - Drama

John Slattery - Mad Men - A great character actor and been nominated twice for this role, he deserves his credit.

Justin Chambers - Grey's Anatomy - One of the orginal cast members and makes the show watchable and his character had to be in love with Katherine Heigl's, enough said.

Matthew Fox - Lost - I am not sure if he'd be considered a lead or if all the actors are considered equal, but in the lead I think he'd have a tougher chance.

Matthew Rhys - Brothers and Sisters - Plays the strong willed brother so well.

Rob Lowe - Brothers and Sisters - His death scene was pretty said and he conveyed it all so well.

Best Supporting Actress - Comedy

Vanessa Williams - Ugly Betty - Never won and now the show was canceled she's given us 4 season of pure greatness.

Jane Lynch - Glee - The main reason to watch Glee is just to see what Lynch is going to do and say next.

Julie Bowen - Modern Family - Who knew playing the straight edged mother could be so funny.

Sofia Vergara - Modern Family - With anyone else in this role the character may not be as funny and as loved as she is with Sofia playing it.

Busy Phillips - Cougar Town - Her facial expressions and quick one liners is helping this show rise and one of the new great comedies.

Best Supporting Actor Comedy

Tracy Morgan - 30 Rock - This character never gets old for me and I love to hear what comes out of that mouth.

Neil Patrick Harris - How I Met Your Mother - I don't watch the show but from critics and people that do they say this womanizing character is classic.

Aziz Ansari - Parks and Recreation - Whenever his character Tom Haverford gets on screen you know you'll be laughing in minutes.

Eric Stonestreet - Modern Family - Just watch the pilot with the Lion King scene and then you'll see.

Ed O'Neill - Modern Family - Ed is back and this is the perfect role for him.

On Google Trends this morning Cruel Intentions is one of the most searched and to say I was surprised when I saw this is an understatement. Now don't get me wrong and anyone who knows me knows that this is one of my favorite movies of all time, but it came out in 1999. So was it on last night or did something happen to one of the stars? This is the movie where Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe met, fell in love, and got pregnant all at once but they've been divorced for quite some time now.

Maybe Cruel Intentions means something else and I am just to obsessed with TV and movies to be any of the wiser, so if anyone out there knows what's going on this guy here writing wants to know.

The holiday weekend has come and gone faster then Lindsay Lohan's career and at the box office it was not quite what I expected, I got the top 3 movies completely wrong.

The number one movie was Shrek Forever After with $55 Million, I had this coming in at number 3 so that's strike one. Prince of Persia was the second movie and it was neck and neck with Sex and the City 2 but in the end Persia got it with $37.7 Million dollars. Now most surprisingly the girls of Sex and the City came in at number 3 with $37.1 Million dollars no where near the $57 Million earned by the first. Still 37 Million for an R rated movie is good.

This Memorial Day Box Office was one of the lowest in recent years, is it because there is nothing original playing maybe the movie studios have to step it up a bit and give us something new and fresh.

Todd Bridges is Responsible

Gary Coleman was rushed to the hospital in Utah and is now in critical condition, no one has said what he was brought to the hospital for but it is Gary's third time in the hospital this year. Hopefully he will get better.

I am a bit suspicious about Todd Bridges, when I watched Diff'rent Strokes, I used to see how Willis used to look at Arnold and the jealously would just shoot out of his eyes.

Updated: People is reporting Gary Coleman has passed away, we are upset about his passing and wish his family our condolences.

Sorry J-Love and 80 year olds

For all senior citizens today is a sad day and for that I am sorry. It's just been reported that ABC has passed on the Jennifer Love Hewitt show Ghost Whisperer. ABC which co-owns the show was thinking about picking up the show for a sixth season but last minute it decided not to do so after the show was canceled by CBS.

Whatever though the show had 5 seasons and over a 100 episodes so it's in syndication and everyone will still make money off it.

What will J-Love do now, she'll definitely has time to bedazzle her vagina now.

I say CBS and ABC made the right move and canceled the show, bring back Highway to Heaven with Michael Landon.

Memorial Day Box Office

This is usually a big weekend for movies, years ago it was the start of the summer box office but in recent years movie studios have started to release movies in May before the holiday, yes Iron Man 2 and Shrek I am talking about you.

This weekend we get 2 new big releases one for the woman and gays the other for manly men and that gays again, it's win win!

Here is what I think will be the weekend results:

1. Sex and the City 2 - 54 Million, the reviews have been brutal but it's what some people have been waiting 2 years for. So I think it's going to do well, the final tally when it's done may not reach the heights of the original but we have he rest of the summer to see.

2. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - 50 Million - Jake Gyllenhaal's jump into the action genre and it's going to do respectable. I know it's based on a video game but I don't know much about the game; like was it popular? It's got action, romance, stunts, partially clothed people so it will do fine.

3. Shrek Forever After - 40 Million - Kids, thats about it, they need to see something and expect it to cross the 100 million this weekend.

4. Iron Man 2 - 17.5 Million - It's third week in release and with another 17 million it's getting closer to the 300 million mark.

5. Robin Hood - 15 million - It's huge all over the world and luke warm here, it will get to a 100 million it will just take time.
